Today I saw someone who had drilled a hole in a $700 video card... then later broke it in a fit of rage.

I also had someone try to say that capitalism without socialism is fascism. They also said socialism without capitalism is communism.

I found both of these people to be burdens to the gene pool.

When I saw that this was the same random thought thread from back in the day(I've long gotten used to forums where threads have a post limit...) I remembered that nothing gets purged here, like ever. So I went back and read a few of my old posts/topics from the olden days.

Good God I cringed so hard WTF was that.

My original posts I was such a spazzy little kid. This was like...pre-Myspace, I think I still had a livejournal when I joined this forum.

Okay, so, because I had the same email from when I was like...12 to when I finally decided "fuck this shit" and got a gmail like 4 years ago, I've still got a treasure trove of old shit in there, too.

Including the first interaction I ever had with the band. Here's an email I sent to the band before the forums even existed, and Mario's response:

Hey,
I was on your website, and I was just wondering if your CD is coming out anytime soon, I couldn't find anything on the site saying if its available. Also, your music really kicks ass! I especially like your Mario one, that is really good stuff. I dont know if this would be a good idea, but maybe you guys could try doing that music from Tetris, that'd be really awesome. Well, hope you get around to reading this. Bye.

Thanks for rocking our music. Our CDs, both old and new, featuring everything we've ever created including this mother pig with 3 piglets I made for my home ec class in 6th grade will be on the website for free download. We don't sell CDs, we just let everyone who wants it go crazy and download. We will however sport merchandise and things, so feel free to shop til you drop at the NESkimos monster weekend sale bash! This Sunday sunday someday. The site should be up within a couple of weeks.

Yes, I would love to do Tetris. The riff I want is still eluding me though.

Rock on!

-Mario

That shit still cracks me up. Also, I'm still waiting to see that mother pig with 3 piglets, Mario.

ha! damn that is some kinda old school right there. so good news and/or bad news Nameless.

The good news: The pig stuffy I'm referring to definitely did exist and I definitely did make it for my 6th grade home ec class.

Bad news: I'm pretty sure it did not survive my teens. i.e. I probably burned it or at least stuffed bottle rockets in it.

There's a joke here about bacon, or pigs flying, but just the mental image of a teenage you lighting a stuffed pig on fire with fireworks is enough of a punchline for me, haha

Last night I did stand up comedy at an open mic night.

I sent this to my friend who took me today.

Like I've processed more of what happened. Like that first minute man, I was bombing so hard. It felt like torture. I started shaking. You don't see it on the video I think, though I did appreciate your laughter because I knew you hadn't heard these before so that was good. But everyone else was so silent. That is really fucking hard to deal with. I swung hard with the overwatch joke. I whiffed big. Though the overweight thing did get a couple "huh huh" things and I think that did help. So I go with the turtle joke, it gets a few more laughs. Can I do it? So I slide into my blind porn joke. On camera that is DEFINITELY my strongest joke. That gets a few solid laughs through out. I go into my daughter joke. Not so good. Was it bad placement? I dunno. Tough crowd? Bad joke? I need to work on the ending. So then I noticed the flashlight lady wasn't there. How much time did I have? Oh shit. Oh there's a dude over there with the light. Ok cool. I look at my jokes, no the Mexico story is too long I think. Ah my brand new cat joke I wrote that day. And it does pretty good! So I had a solid middle and I think I stuck the landing, though I need to clean it up.
But like you said it was a weird crowd. So who knows. It felt horrible and wonderful all at the same time. I was afraid, but I fought through it. It was definitely fun and I'll do it again.

Also, if you're curious at all.

Props, sir.

That is something I've wanted to do for a long, long time. Never have had the courage to attempt it.

Crash, in all seriousness, you are a very brave individual and I respect the hell out of you.

I also enjoyed how there was no real segue from Porn to your daughter in the script. That was jarring, and uncomfortable. In other words, success!

Thats what I was going for, but I guess the crowd didnt enjoy the uncomfortable moment. Oh well, i brought them back by telling them that one of my cats watches me jerk off...

I appreciate all the kind words.

It really was crazy and I can't wait to do it again. I just gotta keep working at it.

I've always kicked around the idea of doing a stand up routine, but I don't have nearly enough fully formed jokes. Typically when making my friends laugh I just say enough silly shit that finally sticks. I feel like that wouldn't work on stage as much.

Mad respect for you actually doing that, though. It's hard to put yourself out there like that.

Legit.

Like, I can find a thousand new ways to talk excitedly about my bowel movements to get a couple of friends to cry(I THINK they're laughy tears? Not sure) but I don't see it panning out on stage.

I did it for a second time. I may just keep doing it for a while. I did some new jokes and i felt a little more comfortable and I felt the room was just a little easier to get a chuckle. I added a new bit to my blind porn joke that seemed to go over pretty good.

I have been writing a bunch of joke ideas and stuff constantly. I am still kind of terrified on stage, but I do feel comfortable. Its also cool to hear my name and then applause. Even still It almost feels silly to feel like that because literally anyone can just write their name on the list and go on stage.

Still. Its fun to do. It also feels good to make people laugh.

Overwatch has been the first game to really be able to pull me away from Destiny. That, in and of itself, is an impressive mark.

Also, it's been 2 weeks and my interview process for the 4H foundation has really come crawling to a slow, slow pace. Every county is having their county fair basically every weekend for the next few months, so I get it...but fuck, I really want to get that ball to the finish line.

Random thought: Hey, I should go look at the NESkimos board.

Imagine my surprise to find people actually posting things.

I think since the band has come back, and they're trying to remain active, it's sorta drawn a lot of us back.
