It's the same thing with Jax (well, about 75% of it).

$575 in gas, eh? Sounds like he called up all his friends and told them to line up at the gas station...

It was pretty impressive. Worse, it was Saturday so I had to wait ALL DAY Sunday and go talk to them Monday. We started talking and the lady pulled up the charges. She asked me what the last 4 transactions were. She had to prove identity.

So I basically was like "Well there were 4 transactions at a 4 gas stations I've never heard of. The first one was for $235. The second was for $240. Then there were two purchases for $50. They were all at Gas Stations. I'm guessing those gas stations are located right next to eachother along a street in Chicago Ridge. Purchases before that, which were actually mine, are $20 in gas from Lafayette, $2.38 for a soda and a rice krispie, and there are about 15 different purchases from Meijer over the course of the last week. There are also around 7-9 purchases at Meijer every week from Fri-Mon ranging from 1030am through 10pm. Rarely these charges don't go over $4."

After all of that she agrees that I'm probably me and assures me "Your money will be back in your account by Friday. Sorry. We'll be sending you a new card. Also, our software marked the final two purchases in Chicago as possibly fraudulent."

Glad those first $200+ gas purchases seemed legit :coookieesssss: It was taken care of in a super fast manner though. Couldn't be happier with their personal service on the matter.

Pretty much every city has an issue that needs to be avoided. Jax has the north side, Miami has anything that's not the beach, Orlando has the Magic Kingdom...

As long as you know where to avoid, any town can be nice. Jax just seems to have several of these places to avoid.

I love when people from NY try to shit all over pizza from anywhere else.

"I'm not eating pizza here, I'm from New York everywhere else tastes like crap!"

Mother fucker... I've been to new york enough and had enough of their pizza, late night, during the day and in the morning... I've been in local shops, chains, recommended by natives and acquaintances alike... It's all overpriced garbage that's been sitting out longer than I could possibly hope for most places in Boston. I'm not going to even talk about conditions of the places or the staff...

The place I was going to suggest to this pompous dick (ok he's kinda sorta my friend) from new york a place that completely took a shit over any pizza place I've been to in new york... How many places do you know have gourmet inspired crust flavors? I'm talking like parmesan dough, or dough with a refreshing hint of lime, jalepeno, or just plain salt and pepper? Cheese that wasn't just standard mozzarella, but buttery gooey goodness that could possibly be ambrosia infused jesus jizz? Ok I'm totally gassing this place up, but this local chain we have here has some insane pizzas that I never had before. I would eat there regularly if it weren't for the lines and crazy calories. But "nope I'm from new york everything is inferior and I won't listen to you!"

Ok I went off on a random thought, but my tldr thoughts are: Fuck New York pizza

I've been to New York a couple times and had some pretty good pizza, but like, I haven't figured out what it's supposed to be that's "special" about New York pizza, you know? Like, it's just generic pizza, sometimes done better than other times, like in any other part of the country.

Chicago pizza, I get what's special about it. Chicago is all about having really good Deep Dish, which I dig a lot, and also doing that whole deal where the sauce is all chunky and isn't confined entirely to below the cheese, which is cool although doesn't really make a huge difference to me.

So like. Chicago: Cool, you've got a unique style of pizza and I like it, although when I want pizza it's not always what I want because fuck if that isn't incredibly filling very quickly.

New York: You have pizza. It tastes like pizza. ....cool? :coookieesssss:

i didnt mean the city itself jeez calm down. I was saying I prefer NY style over Chicago style. as in thin crust over thick crust. I'm sure both styles have their share of good places and bad places.

it's more than that.
the thin crust is better.
there's also a stuffed pizza. pizza pie anyone?

it's not really a single type of pizza.
though most places will assume deep dish and market it as the sole style.
the proportioning tends to be better.
NY pizza strikes me as only being fit for disgusting sewer mutants.

I assumed it wouldn't be too hard to tell that by correcting a post that said "Chicago Style" and then posting "NY" instead, I would mean NY style pizza. As in thin crust>deep dish.

It does drive me so nuts when New Yorkers shit all over everything. It's not just pizza, but, everything.

I know that's not what we're talking about anymore, but seriously - New Yorkers love to shit on our pizza, lack of public transportation, and general lack of culture.

I mean. They're kinda right. But I figure if New York is so magical, y'know, why move down to Florida? Usually the ones shitting on everything had to move to Florida for some reason beyond their control, so they're taking out their homesickness by shitting on everything around them.

To those guys, I say: embrace your new location's culture. I dare you to find a fried chicken in New York half as good as what you could get around here.

Also, New Yorkers - what the fuck is up with ordering things "to stay?" - it's fucking "for here." When I was in New York and asked "to go or to stay' - "to stay" fused into one word in my head, and I just couldn't process it. The fuck is twostay?

Ok, not to continue the Windy City praise (or NY bashing) but the New York train system is fucking bonkers. CTA's trains are all colors. Red Line, Brown Line, Orange Line. They all converge in a single area and multiple lines have transfer spots. Makes sense. I need to get to Water Tower Place? Brown line to Red line, get off here, done. New York's trains? Man, what the hell? Every train is some combination of color, letter, and number. You've got J trains and Q trains, 6 trains and 4 trains, some are lime green and some are purple. Sometimes there's a 7 train and sometimes the 7 is in a diamond instead of a circle. What the fuck? I'm sure there's a rational reason for it all but man, that shit is crazy.

Oh, and most New Yorkers I know in Florida moved because of the weather, and their NY money buys a lot more stuff in FL.

I've never heard anyone say "to stay" and if I have I didn't notice. It's always "for here or to go" whereever I go. Though as I've said, I'm not in the city often, so it might strictly be a New York City thing.
