Update: We have been rehearsing like mad. Tonight we've got a sound guy recording our rehearsal so we might get a demo quality set out of it. I'll see I can get it to the board first, because you guys rock for great justice.

20 minutes? Lucky you, it'd take me like 15 hours to get there.

Good news, guys, they still kick ass live!

Also, they asked us to pass out kazoos, I think, and...I'm not sure what for. It never came up in the set. I think it was for the digital part in Contra - Base or something? I dunno, Stomphoof got a bag of kazoos from someone and was told to pass them out. I have no idea what that was all about, to be honest, haha.

Either way, it was awesome. They did a shortened Mario 3 - the first level only - and lead straight into Dark World. It was a really nice transition.

Oh, and for Monkey Island, they tried out a new distortion on the bass guitar for the slow part. It sounded fucking wicked. Also, the bass player, Mario was telling me he was one of the dude's who helped do the original studio recordings for some of their early stuff.

Had a really good time. Surprised that I was recognized from the old Nerda photo, even through the sombrero.

I am gonna be 34 next month, and I am not a heavy metal badass like you, Wily, or Dylan :P But hey I was there so HA. I even hung out with Wily and Dylan after the show while you scampered off...to god knows where Mister! :P

I am waiting for Dylan to share the pic he had taken of me, him, brou, wily, and your bassist (who I cannot for the life of me remember his name).

Also guys, I am trying to help Dylan sort out some sort of Print on Demand Merch solution so NESkimo shirts and things can be available with ease again. I got a few options to give him later today.

Picture on FB was a bit underexposed. There was too much detail loss from the darkness that brightening it in photoshop didn't do much.

It was a blast playing again, and even more enjoyable was seeing all of the neskimites there in full force. Wow!

Some unfortunate technical issues with the guitar pedals in the beginning and some complaints that the sound guys didn't have the guitars at an audible level for the crowd, but all in all still fun and more shows are planned for the future.

As to my "scampering off" - I and my wifette had bronchitis last week and 4 hours of shouting conversations with friends in the loud club prior to playing left us pretty ragged. We coughed our way back to the hotel and promptly drowned our misery in nyquil. So metal.

Also, furries, FURRIES! So rad to see these magical and elusive creatures at a neskimos show. That was my personal favorite bit of the evening.

I realized that after the fact, I was like "Wait...blank space here...SHIT! Kazoo!" It was kinda too late, though, haha

Oh, dude, here's the weird part: I think I know those furries.

Not personally, but I've seen em around at like 4 or 5 cons in the Orlando area, so they must be locals. The furry heads looked super familiar to me. Which wouldn't surprise me, since the nerd crowd in Florida tends to go to a lot of conventions/nerd music festivals/whatever.

We thought that maybe someone was getting trolled.

I yelled 8-bit during those parts like we used to.

I posted this on the facebook page but I know a few NESkibros arent on there so my thoughts are as follows.

Ok, so I often try and be a very positive person so I apologize if this sounds too ass kissy, but here are my thoughts on the show Saturday night.

It felt like I was back in the early 2000's right there with my best friends (though not as many of them as the old days) just rocking to the great NESkimetal. It was a great set and had the fun banter between band mates and crowd. Great energy and sound. I look forward to the future of the band because I believe it to be a bright one. The gods of VGM have returned.
It was kind of a surreal night as now the VGM scene really is blown up and back then you guys were originals. Like really and truly. Pioneers of music, whether you like it or not. It's crazy! I've heard podcasts where people mention you guys. They also mention the Minibosses and FUCK THEM! Haha. Every time I hear their name I still ball my fist up. I mean I probably shouldn't really hate them, but that awesome rock feud is still something that's kind of my blood to this day. When I saw MegaRan did a collab with them I got a little upset.
It was really cool to talk with Danny a bunch and to Dan a little less unfortunately but that will change in the future I'm sure. I missed Dylan and the bass player ( who I should really learn his name.)

Anyways I'm done rambling. I'm glad your back for however long that is.

NESKIMOS 4 Life

My one minor stupid complaint was that I miss when they opened the show with Aqua Teen.
