Bros,

It is with great joy that I announce OUR MEINKRAFT SERVER HAS RETURNED.

But we're trying to mix things up a bit.

This server is experimental and won't be part of the 'plotline' of Ghasthulhu (I think!), but it's gonna be a great testbed for the next evolution.

YOU WILL NEED TEKKIT TO PLAY. This mod makes things way more interesting and funzorz.

http://www.technicpack.net/tekkit/

The server IP is 199.167.134.205 / neskimine.dyndns.org

"Look for the village. It's reasonably safe, but we aren't going to force you to stay put; just remember that we are on hard, and you will starve to death without food, so you should at least stop by and stock up on wheat seeds and bread. And from personal experience, if you go to sea, you'll be travelling for a while before you reach land. Oh, and we will be putting in a mod to make aggressive mobs much more dangerous in various ways.

Hint: Use 'U' and 'R' in the crafting screen to find out what the item you're clicking is "U"sed in, or has a "R"ecipie. You can also enter the name of what you're looking for in the text bar below, and have the item list get filtered down to something more appropriate.

Also Hint: If you go after rubber (the yellow spots on the small dark trees), use a tree tap on the yellow spots before you take out the tree. Then, please make sure to plant saplings. We need lots of rubber in order to get to the higher-level stuff.

Also Also Hint: When felling the regular trees (Apple, birch, and pine), use an axe on the very bottom wood block... it'll save you a lot of time. "

While there is a wiki set, http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,4171.0.html

You may want to go to youtube and google Tekkit, buildcraft, and industrial craft to get a better view of how it all works.

I keep getting "download failed" whenever I try to load minecraft with Tekkit. Lame.

Probably.

Also, I'm super stoked that they're updated for 1.2.5 now. I'm gonna fuck some shit up, yo. :awesome:

Also, I'm out of class for the summer now, so I've got plenty of time to dick around. Woo!!

Woo!

Since the 1.2.5 patch changes so much, we're back to the "New map, bros?" question.

As the person who has spent the most time on the current world, I'll say... Yeah, let's just get a clean install, since there are entire mods removed from Tekkit, mods that I was trying out a bit.

My only regret in saying that is that the village near spawn totally rocks for a start point, but it's not needed, and we can, through 1.2.5, move villages wherever we want. :P

If you can find a spawn near a jungle or mushroom biome I will love you with mouth. Also, school's out for me and I'd l9ve to play some tonight. Will this new map be our permanent home for the forseeable future? I'd love to start some big projects, if it is.

Sounds like we're all in agreement. Sure, I think I can handle getting tekkit installed, I'll get on that.

Hey, if you make a new map, try this seed: 1381538624208156757

I just saw some screencaps of a guy's spawn and the area around it. Holy shit, it looks gorgeous.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comme ... peechless/

Or, another oceanic map would be cool.

Also, is the server updated? I'm really stoked :D

It is... and it isn't.

I've got it working, but... I've just put in a new copy of tekkit running 1.1. There was an update to let people use 1.2.5 through the tekkit launcher. If there is a server/client update for Tekkit to MC 1.2.5, it's not yet posted, and I've deleted that nice place we had for something completely new, but still MC 1.1.

Sigh.

Ah...balls.

Well, that sucks, then. What if we just started a 1.2.5 map and installed Tekkit onto it when they updated to it?

....Wait, fuck, we'd need the new ores, though.

:cookieshmm: Hmmm...

I started building a house in a Volcano on the first tekkit map, I found out repeatedly how much lava burns.

This map does, at least, have one HELL of a volcano by spawn.

Does it have a derpy little lava spout on top, too?

They need to figure out how to spawn like a lava pool or something on top of the volcanoes so they look less stupid, haha.

This one has a lot of lava.

It's like lava mountain.

Should we call it Mount Doom, or is that not appropriate for it? It's just... So freakin' tall and lava-y.

I vote we call it:

Death Mountain. Since we're a gaming community and all.

But Mount Poon is pretty good. Because it's also a sentence fragment.

"Hey, man, what's your plan for the evening with the missus?"

"Mount poon."

"Awww yeeaahh!"
