Haven't watched the whole video yet, but I think what you guys have built so far is equal parts adorable, awesome, and very creative.

The squidles and fishles gave me a chuckle. Adorable name, haha.

I watched the whole thing, it was pretty good, Apple is way too good at building things.

Yea we are waiting to see if/when Fallout brings his server back up if she can be granted Creative Mode instead of survival.

She informed me she IS interested in trying Survival on Napalm's server, but will ONLY focus on surviving instead of designing badass buildings.

So its a one or the other sort of things with her haha.

Survival actually isn't that hard (speaking as a coward). There's just a few design rules/strategies to secure against NPCs, and then it's basically just spending your time gathering materials for badass buildings. :)

For example, hostile NPCS can't spawn on water, glass, lava, stairs, half-blocks, or anywhere that's well-lit.

Combining those ideas, I started building at sea/taking over small islands because it was easier to light them up and secure them against hostiles.

While this does limit what one can do with regards to designing with the terrain, it provides complete safety from everything but endermen, who you can drive off by looking at them and then looking away... while you're in the water. If they pop over to hurt you, they get hurt first, and that makes them go from hostile to neutral once again. Rinse & repeat until the enderman dies or teleports somewhere far away.

Also, it seems like iron armor is seriously improved, and with the new version giving EXP for mining coal and smelting, you can very easily get your levels up for enchanting without needing to fight anything.

(Hint: Creepers vs. knockback swords = awesome, since you knock 'em out of explosion range).

I'd be glad to help you figure out survival, since I'm pretty crap at prettiness. :P

They can spawn on upsidedown stairs and slabs now, though. That was a recent update, I think.
