Color me super interested to see the 3DS and Wii U come to an end with the same device. I'm curious as to price point. But from what we saw...I'm very interested. Bit of fanboy loyalism; bit of intrigue.

I'm definitely intrigued by the play a console anywhere approach. My biggest concern is battery. My new 3DS can't go for too long playing a taxing game like Hyrule Warriors Legends. How is this thing gonna handle wireless controllers, local wireless co-op with another system, and enhanced graphics?

I hopped off the console bus for good with the Wii-U. Split one with my roommates. It saw use for a little bit, but the novelty wore off fast, and proceeded to turn into a paper weight in under a year. Even the new smash brothers couldn't save it; was it just me or did it control like shit compared to brawl? Something just really put me off about it. I was kinda excited for it, but the second I started playing it I was very much over it, and I don't really know why.

I still play my Wii U pretty regularly, more so than my PC these days. It's the perfect companion console to a good PC since there's less overlap in titles.
Smash controls are fine, It's by far the best entry in the series(fuck melee) and it's only real problem is the online sucks arse.
I hope the Switch really takes off just because it really deserves to, I mean, shit, portable Skyrim? I'm all about that, can't wait to see what other high-profile games become available.

The problem with the gaming community is they yell and scream for something different, then cry when someone delivers on that screaming the word "gimmick" and go crawling back to their "Next-gen" consoles not realising that their promised power for those is just as much, if not more of a gimmick and it's a gimmick they can't even deliver on half the time(LOL nice res and framerate, Xbone). There's no real innovation anymore, even indie games are the same couple of games over and over again.

That bit about indie games reminds me of something I ranted about. Why did everyone decide "Metroidvania" was the de facto indie formula? There are a ton of them and don't get me wrong, I love a good Metroidvania, but I don't want to play nothing but that. It seems most indies are 16-bit RPGs or Metroidvanias. Why can't we get an indie game on the Mega Man formula? Or an indie kart racer? Or hell anything else? It really feels like the artistic indie scene is all about story and visuals while the actual game mechanics are as boring and similar.

But yeah, I'm really pulling for the Switch. I think a console handheld hybrid could shake things up. I just hope t shakes it up in the good way.

I'm a bitch. I'll be pre-ordering it the day I can and getting one on release day. Curse my Nintendo love.

It's the most Nintendo system I've ever seen with the most progressive concepts that Nintendo has shown off in some time. At the same time, they have Nintendo'd those progressive steps. A bit confusing, a bit cool.

Zelda looks absolutely incredible.

We're 4 weeks to go, and I'm still on the fence about my preorder. I know I want the system in the end...but day 1? Hmmm.....I just don't know.

That's how I feel honestly. I know I'll get the system. No doubt about that. Just not sure about launch. Breath of the Wild looks awesome and play anywhere Bomberman will be amazing but outside of that? Most of what I really want is still a ways out. MK8 Deluxe and Arms aren't for a month or so away and Spla2n is summer so...

Maybe I'll just wait til they have the inevitable bundle.

Yeah, although I'm considering Nintendo's normal console launch situations and thinking about stock for the rest of the year. Plus, I currently have the excess cash in a way that won't hurt me financially. That makes getting it a non-burden. Most things seen give the Wii "Once you try it" impressions.

I could easily be wrong, but this feels like it is going to be a bigger deal than some assume.
