I'm fucking excited about this. They already hit their first stretch goal and have a new race that's coming out that's going to be a bunch of sentient star plasma cowboys. :awesome:

Oh, and if they get to $750k, they're adding in Fossils, which sounds pretty bad ass, too.

i hope it isnt as chaotic as Terraria. In that game, while fun, it got to a point where nothing you did really mattered.

This sounds like it's going to be awesome. 100 planets in an average "universe" in the game, and each one is generated randomly and given a set random level range of 10 (0-10, 10-20, etc.)

Monsters and guns are randomly generated (think Borderlands or Diablo's loot system).

Oh, and it's going to have FTL-style space combat, apparently, too.

Fuck, I can't wait for this game.

While we may be herp derping, it seems like it'd still be a fun game!

I really want to start as one of the fish people and just take off my helmet and go swimming or something.

I'll have to name my character Dagon or something, too.

Love it!

I had a Merfolk challenge character in Terraria named Fishy Joe, and I thought I was being clever. But, this takes the cake.

As I recall, that was one of the board members here's name for his pet fish.
It's also the name of an aquatic-themed druid/barbarian/monk I have in a 3.5 game. He kicks ASS.

Can you get into the Beta without pre-order? Will it be on Steam Early Access?

I just hope its better than Edge of Space cuz that one blew.

:edit: Ok, after some Let's Plays and that beautiful trailer, I broke down and bought it. Unfortunately, I won't have time to play tonight, doing some vocal recording. But tomorrow.... ooooh, tomorrow!

Bought it, and it's wonderful.

But the latest update makes it so that I'm stuck on my ship half the time. Teleporting just ports me back to where I was teleporting from. Fucking stupid.

Also, I forgot to set my home world, so now I'm just wandering aimlessly in space, and I can't get back to the place I was at originally.

Yeah, that wandering aimlessly...

I've been running into the same problem I had with Terraria: After a while, I don't know what to do. I found a bitchin bone hammer that spits a wave of poison and can one-shot lvl. 6 critters. I got a silver pickaxe, armor and whatnot. Now I can't really build anything new. At least I can leave and jump to other planets. I for example, I found some sort of ape laboratory with a obstacle course that had an Energy Dash upgrade at the end. But I hope for more quests in the future. Right now it kinda stops after I built the distress beacon and some penguins in a flying saucer came and attacked me.
