So, seeing as talks of the "Alpha" in which people can hopefully get in on is being tossed around, and the website for it seems to be in full swing... Cube World!

That only describes a small portion of it.

Although the initial 2 - 4 player Multi is meh... but beggars can't be choosers. :D

That question is asked quite a bit.
Short version: No.
Long version: Not yet.
Speculation version: He doesn't want to state a date that the alpha will be available for purchase on the off chance something occurs and he is not able to get it ready for public purchasing by that date thus creating a problem when promising things.

That can also be the long version but still. :coookieesssss:

Be patient, good things come to those who wait.

Well sure if you want to mess with that whole pair of ducks thing.

Damn ducks, always ruining time travel.

Yes, I know it's paradox.

I'm still hoping, with all that power new consoles and especially PCs bring to the table... I hope we're going to see more voxel based games with completely moldable environments. After Minecraft and this, the Voxel is really due for another turn in the spotlight.

patience. for a few years now there's been an incoming texture mapping advancement that uses a voxel based method to preform it's namesake and volumetricly map textures.

though i wouldn't hold your breath for consoles. loading large grid sections is very memory intensive, and having them be dynamic is very processor intensive.

last time i checked these are both major limitations in the console world. and that's not even touching dynamic rendering.
consoles work best with pre-scripted projects, and where there are dynamic elements: they are confined to small spaces.

basically; once the next generation of pc development techniques and conventions becomes last gen: then you might see a next gen console using them.

He's shown interest in the PS4 actually.
Seeing how it's really easy for someone to publish their own fucking game on it.
Unlike XBone.

About Missions

Hey guys, today I'll be working on an interface to manage multiplayer worlds. Then I'll start preparing the demo.

That was earlier today, the demo is more or less a way to stress test the servers to make sure everything goes well.

If all goes well there is a good chance Alpha will be in July.

Only a tech demo though, to see if your computer can stand the awesome.

He put it up and more or less quickly took it down because the server was FLOODED... It nearly broke it to where the people who DID buy it couldn't play it.

He's going about fixing that, fixing the server for the actual game and will shortly bring it back up hopefully...

Yeah, no. It's down again. Or at least unreachable.

Got it and tried it for a couple of minutes. Wasn't really in the mood yet as it seems that this game might need some dedication to get into. Looks nice though.

First few levels suck. Once you get past those, the game really starts to open up.
For a game made out of voxels though... damn that terrain looks beautiful.
