Not sure if this game is anyones radar, but it was on mine. I have been playing the crap out of it. It reminds me of Diablo 2 but with marvel characters. Oh its free to play also, the devs are constantly updating. Deyis is my in game name

played for a while as the Thing. it's alright, but progression is too slow and without variance. this makes the game feel very samey and grindy.

MedianXL is still where it's at.

it is crazy amounts of good.

Titan Quest gets a nod for second best hack and slash out there.
cool character building and satisfying physics. it has me wanting Grim Dawn badly.

I thought it felt like a boring X-men Legends/Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

Yeah, Titan Quest is pretty good, I need to play that more than I have.

Tried it, uninstalled almost immediately. It just feels wrong. Titan Quest was the best Diablo clone until Torchlight came along. But this... well, at least it makes Diablo 3 look good in comparison. I'll stick with Torchlight 2, thankyouverymuch.

i'd recommend giving Median a shot if you haven't already.
it blows every other ARPG out of the water. it makes Diablo 2 look like a poorly made mod for Median.

120 level cap. redone skill trees. new skills and effects. new monsters. all gold chest side areas have been replaced with new dungeons. new quests that span all three difficulties. Merc overhaul. tons of new bosses; most of them requiring some strategy. expanded crafting system. ability to modify gear. the list goes on, and it's all very well done.

Have any of you tried it since the last 2 patches? its much more enjoyable, they added some new areas and some different game play like a survival mode also added different difficulties. Also they have a system where you can unlock different characters so you don't have to wait for them to drop

Sounds interesting but I can't seem to find it. Can you post a link?

i always feel disconnected to those games, even as far back as Diablo 2.

I know its a ridiculous notion, but the clickclickclickclickclickclick nature of the games kinda turn me off. I especially dont enjoy using the click to move either.

Also, how do these compare to MMOs... (I mean, i understand there are MMOs that use this type of gameplay like Marvel Heroes) generally they are different beasts all together.

I don't know, both genres have felt similar to me, both have lame combat so there's that.

Oh... didn't see that. So, it's a D2 Mod? Somehow that doesn't entice me at all. Maybe I'm just so sick of anything D2... played it for so long, I can't even read the font without getting a stale taste in my mouth. T2 is the purest evolution of that particular formula, that you can get. It feels great, looks good and plays even better. And thanks to Steam Workshop support, there's already tons of extra stuff... loot, textures, classes, dungeons...

I actually love listening to an audiobook or some music while playing these games. They're pure comfort gaming. My hands know what they are doing, I get a lot of nice lights, explosions and gibs all over the place (again, some mods give T2 a lot more oomph), my head can focus on the book or the music and I get cool loot.

Although, I would love to see controller support for the PC versions of D3 and T2. The latter has some workarounds but it's just not the same without the corresponding UI and inventory tweaks. The XBLA version of the first Torchlight actually worked pretty well with a controller.

I know, I sound like a massive Torchlight-Fanboy over here but that's... well, because I am. I mean, I was in the Mythos beta for Crom's sake! Remember that? The game that started it's life as network stresstest for Hellgate London? Then they started developing it for real? Then the company went belly up and the name rights got sold to South Korea? Then the guys who made it took it's bones and fashioned it into Torchlight? Yeah, I just have all kinds of love and respect for that game and its makers. Sorry for gushing :)

Ps: You can have a Headcrab as pet sidekick. So there's that.
