Could *this* be that magic year? Will they go all the way?

Also, the O's... *sigh* will I ever see my team be a winner in my lifetime?

The Cubs ALWAYS do well and then fail. I hope this is the year, I'm not counting on it though :?

I mean after all, its only been 108 years since the last World Series win

hey, if boston can break the curse, why cant the cubs? and didnt the cubs win the world series in the early 90s when they had that 12 year old kid pitching for them? [/confusion of fiction vs reality]

I wish my team would do well, then fail... We just fail. =b Main reason I don't give a flying fuck about baseball is because in KC its all the same.

*Watch game*
*Watch home team lose*
*Complain*

And thats the only baseball they will show in Kc..

are you sure it was the Twins and not Cleveland with charlie sheen pitching, wesley snipes in the outfeild, that guy from the all-state commercials, and sgt barnes as manager?

Actually it wasn't! I just researched it and they lost to the Angels when the cop who worked with Mel Gibson was managing!

That was when Doc Brown came back from the future to help the team out or something, right? He had a new invention where he was invisible to everyone but orphans with douchebag dads? I think he called it the "angel" something or other.

But he built it, they all came, he eased his dad's pain, and played catch with him in the end. Oh, and wasnt Tim Robbins the pitcher or something?

man, this baseball movie thing could go on forever. Theres at least 3 with Costner alone

Go Twins?

I really don't care enough about baseball, but yeah that would be cool if the Cubs went all the way for the first time in forever.

Things That Have Happened Since the Cubs Won the World Series

1. Radio was invented.

2. TV was invented.

3. Baseball added 14 teams.

4. George Burns celebrated his 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th, 70th, 80th, 90th and 100th birthdays.

5. Haley's Comet passed Earth... twice.

6. Harry Caray was born... and died. Incredible, but true.

7. The NBA, NHL and NFL were formed, and Chicago teams won championships in each league.

8. Man landed on the moon.

9. Sixteen US presidents were elected.

10. There were 11 amendments added to the Constitution.

11. Prohibition was created, and repealed.

12. The Titanic was built, set sail, sank, was discovered, and became the subject of major motion pictures.

13. Wrigley Field was built and becomes the oldest park in the National League.

14. Flag poles were erected on Wrigley Field roof to hold all of the
team's future World Series pennants. Those flag poles have since rusted and been taken down.

15. A combination of 40 summer & winter Olympics have been held.

16. Thirteen baseball players have won the Triple Crown.

17. Bell bottoms came in style, went out of style, and came back in style.

18. The Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Florida Marlins have ALL won the World Series.

19. The Cubs played 14,153 regular-season games.

20. Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, Oklahoma, and New Mexico were added to
the Union.
