It all goes WAY over my head, but it seems pretty crazy. I mean, very specific math formulas showing up in nature is nothing new, from what I understand, but I also REALLY don't comprehend the bulk of this (I study English literature), and can just kind of watch and be like "woah. My scientist friends will probably freak about this."

yes.
why this is interesting is because that type of algorithm is used as a correction for data loss over transmission mediums.
if the specific use for them can be ascertained to be for purposes of data loss it all but outright proves what we call reality is a simulation.

the observer effect shows nearly identical behavior between quantum particle behavior and computer rendering systems.

there are a number of other effects that also lend themselves to the notion of a simulated universe in much the same way.

we don't often think it possible that outside of a computer that data can become corrupted or lost.
that would be like opening your mouth to say something, making proper enunciation and vibrating your vocal cords while no sound is made.
or two people remembering the same event differently while having equal perception of said event.

I fail to see how chocolate bacon is fine, but ice cream bacon is a bad idea. I don't see how one can be interesting but the other is an abomination. I've actually had both, and they're both enjoyable for quite the same reasons. The sweet taste of the chocolate and/or ice cream is an interesting compliment to the smoky, salty flavor of the bacon.

Now if the ice cream itself were bacon flavored, i might second guess it... But it's just vanilla soft serve.

well if anyone wants 510 calories of cheap drive-thru bacon sundae anytime they want it's on Burger King's summer menu.

http://www.bk.com/en/us/menu-nutrition/ ... index.html

I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea taste wise (maple syrup and ham is the BEST), but a fast food franchise? Using cheap shit? Ugh just the sight of it makes me feel sick. ugh, caramel.
I think chocolate would go better with bacon if it was bitter - ie, chocolate as a savoury ingredient. I also cannot understand the fascination with putting bacon on everything, it's nice but gosh things without bacon are nice too

Chocolate bars with bacon bits are amazing.

There's a bakery in Chicago that does bacon cupcakes. They are not good.

Basically this. Plus it's a texture thing, I'm sure I'd feel pretty weird having bacon in my ice cream.

I don't see it as being terribly different that having nuts in your ice cream (hahahaha I said nuts), assuming the bacon is crispy.

I'm allergic to nuts so I wouldn't know, I don't like cookie crumbles in my ice cream because of the crunch. I know it's normal to most but it's something that I don't like when eating ice cream.

I'm really curious how this is going to change the way dealers work around that area. I've heard that people can have up to 6 plants in their home for their personal use.

Like, how legal is it? Can people still get busted for selling? Is there a limit to how much you can have on you?

It's totally legal in the state, like, 100%, but it's still federally illegal so the FBI can bust you if they ever feel like doing so.

the big thing is: the states are starting to say 'fuck you' to the federal government.

They've been talking about this for a while now. I think it's got some merit to it, especially since I always use my card for everything anyways and won't have to worry too much about carrying the coins around.

I love having a wallet full of $1 and $2 coins, also makes my wallet hurt more when I throw it at people.

Yeah, they always talk about how "oh, the public isn't going along with it..." Like we would actually be able to do a damned thing if we didn't want it. It's the same thing with putting up those solar panels in New Jersey and everyone complained that they had to look at them all day. It would save several billion, so they should just fucking do it already and tell everyone to deal with it. It's not like vending machines don't take credit cards or 5's now anyways.
