So how we finding the other people? Also, when it comes to the draft...could it be on a tues, wed or thurs?

Or start sometime after 10pm EST? Because that is basically my only free hours. Also, not next weekend.

I would play, but I stopped doing fantasy football a few years ago.

It kinda ruined everything for me in two ways:

1. Being a New York Giants fan, I had a real conflict of interest whenever players from the Giants or players from their respective weekly opponents were involved. I obviously want the Giants to win every week, and I usually believe they can win. Do I start the Giants player? Do I start an opponent playing against the Giants? How do I root for the team I'm a fan of while at the same time hoping that the opposing Running Back gets at least two touchdowns and a hundred yards? I realized that my being a fan took precedence over fantasy football, and as such I could never truly succeed. The best fantasy football players are those who don't like any team in particular.

2. I found that fantasy football made watching football less enjoyable, regardless of who was playing. It reduced the sport to a series of numbers and statistics. It was no longer enough for a team to just win a game; they had to win a certain way to benefit your team. If the Giants weren't playing, and I didn't have any vested interest in the game, I usually enjoyed it because I wouldn't care who scored, how many yards they had, and how they scored. But mulling over statistics and constantly hoping your particular players are going to break some big run... it just stressed me out and made everything less enjoyable.

In addition my friends get waaay too obsessed with fantasy football. To the point where the league now has 14 players and a $150 buy-in (too expensive for my taste.) I'd much happier on the outside looking in, just rooting for the team I like and enjoying football as a whole, without getting stressed over who scored.

That being said, I hope you guys have fun with the league. Try to drag some of the other board members in on it, even if they don't follow football as closely. I've seen non-football fans get involved with fantasy and become seriously into football; so, in that regard, it has its benefits.

I dont usually play 4 srs or even for monies. I like it because it gives me reason to care about teams i normally wouldnt care about. I also like trying to get some of my favorite players on the same team. The draft is fun too. I didnt do it last year and i was surprised how much i missed it. I can totally see though how someone could get burned out on it.

I accepted-ed. Amory Warriors sir.

Also, as for making football more or less fun...and it changing how you want outcomes. Screw that. I'm a steelers fan. I don't care who they're facing or who is on "my team". I want the steelers to crush everyone. Even if it means I never win a fantasy football game.

I'd join up, but I haven't really watched football outside of family get-togethers, the first year or so of the Jaguars being around, and high school. I know the basic rules, like if I see the guys in the color uniform that I'm cheering for end up on the other team's end line, I know that's good. And I know you're not supposed to grab the other guy's face plate. And whenever I play football video games, I like to run to my own goal just to screw with people, and apparently you can get a point for that called a Safety or something.

That's the extent of my knowledge of football. I'd be terrible at this fantasy football stuff, haha.

:cookieshuh: :cookieshuh: :cookieshuh:

The other team gets the (2) points for that, by tackling you in your own end zone.

Everything I need to know about football I learned from Tecmo Super Bowl and Blitz.

That is to say, I'd be utterly terrible at this "make-believe sphere of the foot" you speak of... unless it's Blood Bowl, in which case bring that shit.

Oh, really? I knew someone got points for that. :coookieesssss: I also like to turn around in racing games and drive right into people head on.

I guess my point is, I'm not good at sports games.

I just came up with an idea for Mario Kart. 4 player races with no computer. 2 people race, and 2 people drive the other way, shooting at them as much as possible. After the race is over, the roles reverse, and the team that finishes the race quicker wins. basically, work in teams to prevent the racers from succeeding.

I'd love to learn. Also, at Gencon I demo'd the Blood Bowl Manager Card Game.

Basically it's a blood bowl type of game but in card form so you don't spend $$$$$$$. We were kind of rushed due to the line for that, and I think I understood some of it.
