So me and a group of friends are trying to go to the Streetlight Manifesto show tomorrow night at this place called Freebird Live (it's technically in the city Jacksonville Beach, but I'm guessing if you know what I'm talking about you already knew that), but I just called their supposed "customer help desk" and they were like...uhhh, I dunno if you can buy tickets at the door or not. But he did say we could pick them up tonight at this venue or at some venue called Jack Rabbits. (I feel like the NESkimos played there once or something...or was it that place the NESkimos homepage had that post about shafting the venue with a wooden spoon, and how it was all hipsters with clove cigarettes and expensive coffee). Anyways, what this all boils down to is two questions: A) Have you ever been to this Freebird Venue and know if we can get tickets at the door, if you know we can't then B) How will are you to spend $45 dollars tonight buying 3 tickets to a show and then meeting us there tomorrow and receiving extra money as compensation. >_>

I don't think you can buy tickets at the door. You should be able to get them at Ticketmaster.com, that's how I got mine when I saw Coheed and Cambria there.

It's kind of a small venue, but if you get on the second story balcony above the stage, you'll be within distance that you could probably jump and land on their heads like mario stomping a goomba if you wanted to. It's rather awesome. I could read Coheed and Cambria's set list from where I was, haha.

Also, I would help you out, but I'm very broke right now, and I don't think you can buy tickets at the door, sooo, yeah, haha.

same, broke as a joke. I saw a couple bands there about 2 years ago, Fed Up and My Own Sin were the headliners. I forget who the others were, but those two were best by far. We were in the pit for the show and it was pretty awesome. Don't know if Fed Up is still around, but they put on an AWESOME show if you get the chance. My Own Sin doesn't exist anymore, but their music is fucking GOD.

All in all, good venue, although small. Depending on the fame of the band, you might be able to get tickets at the door. Fame levels include,

1. Local scream-o garage band (Not to dis this kind of music)

2. Silversun Pickups pre-Panic Switch release

3. Neon Trees

I would think you could get tickets at the door for the first two. But then again, I saw Hoobastank last year at a large outdoor venue that could hold about 2,000, but only 200 showed up, so plenty of tickets were available at the door. It's all depending on how much advertisement they did for the show.

Edit - Just saw the price. If you can get three tickets online for a total of $45, then I'm assuming they are of a current fame level that you can probably get tickets at the door still. Might wanna get there in the early afternoon just to be sure tho. There's plenty to do around Jax Beach if you have to kill some time before the show.

Freebird is Ok.

i think the place is too cramped and the sound quality is kinda shitty.

Jackrabbits is by far much better.
