honestly, as much as i dig the story. most of the music i cant listen to. welcome home and a few others are great, but the music simply doesnt fit the atmosphere of the story in the least. to me they just sound like a pretty standard prog-emo band that had a cool idea. imo if they wanted to match the music to the story they would need a completely different vocalist and make the music a bit darker, and throw in some synth. and pretty much rework the melodies and change just about everything about the music its self.

it's called contrast.

it makes things more interesting.

what's so unique about a death metal band who sings about death? nothing.

now a serial killer who writes lullabies, that would be special.

OH MY GOD. THAT IS THE BEST IDEA EVER.

If anyone here EVER becomes a judge, sentence a random serial killer to life in prison writing lullabyes. PLEASE.

I just recently picked up Good Apollo, and I am loving the music. Kind of pissed off that I later found out the CD was edited (I bought it used, so there were no markings or labels to indicate that an editing had taken place) but what can ya do?

I gotta say though... maybe it's just this album, but I'm not picking up on any of the sci-fi elements here.

It's cause that album doesn't really follow the Sci-Fi storyline. The first two do, but the third album is about the writer of the story and how shit in his life is influencing the story so its kinda weird. The last four tracks are about the actual story though as is the entire next album.

I never really listened to them much, but lately one of my friends really got into them and told me to listen to IV. theyre really a bit better than i gave them credit for. plus, i gained alot of respect for them after seeing the rock band loading screen: "When asked for best advice to give new musicians looking to start a band, Claudio Sanchez of Coheed and Cambria said, 'Listen to Maiden.' "

It's like they're *almost* good, but that makes them suck even more. "Welcome Home" is a great song, but the rest of their stuff sounds like emometal (not Fall Out Boy, more like that shitty band that opened for Maiden).

Comparing Coheed to bullet for my valentine is a downright insult. they are faaaaar better than bullet. I wouldnt say theyre *almost* good. Talentwise, I would actually say theyre very good. just not QUITE my taste in music. I think it would be hard to deny the fact that they are all very talented musicians, who, combined, make very good music. If I were to say they were *almost* good, i'd be speaking in terms of my own taste in music alone, and not at all judging the band's overall talent.

Basically, if they were on the radio or a friend was playing a cd, i wouldnt rush to change it. I'd actually probably enjoy it a bit. but i'm not going to pay money for any of their music either. PIRACY FTW

Best Show I've ever been to was Coheed and Cambria (with As Tall As Lions opening) at the Highline Ballroom in NYC on October 13th, 2007. I really don't like how they're starting to play bigger venues, because this place was fucking tiny and thats what made it amazing.

word...they played the egyptian room here in Indy and it was epic being a semi-small venue...guitar echoed throughout the hall and it just made itthat much more badass

I think the Hammerstein Ballroom is the type of venues they should always play

*bump*
Just got Good Apollo off of Napster (free music for getting mp3 player, ftw). I'm really intrigued by this comic that goes along with it, I wanna see it. Anyone know where I'd find it, online or IRL?

Good music, too, btw.

You can buy the comics online here:
http://www.theamorywars.com/[

Also Hot Topic supposedly carries them as well.

I'll have to look into them, then, but the hot topic at our mall kind of sucks. Mostly just band shirts and weird chick clothes. Very little nintendo clothing anymore, and I don't think I've seen any comics there at all.
