Pretty cool. For some reason I never thought of the Fallout soundtrack, even though it has some great ambient tunes.

On that same note, Planescape: Torment's soundtrack goes unnoticed a lot just because all anyone talks about is the writing, but it's pretty great. Notably,

(actually has almost the same opening as that Fallout track you posted, now that I listen to it, haha. Oh. The same guy did the music, apparently. Mark Morgan. That makes sense.)

And, this could work as like, an interlude between more metal-y bits

This song will always make me feel such deep dark ways, forever. It is already metal in my heart.

War. War never changes.

Oh, and when I played that shit, in summer of '08, was also when I was watching tons of X-Files. The music of that show is verrrry Falloutish.

That was a weird summer.

(Also, that was when this was happening: http://amarillo.com/stories/070498/new_florida.shtml )

Actually, while we're on the topic of PC game soundtracks that are severely underrepresented,

Not as genuinely good as Warcraft, but...

I'll never forget those late nights.

Are we just talking about PC games in here?

Here's one of my favorites from my childhood:

I wish I knew the actual name of the song, because I have a feeling looking to see if anyone's covered Sim City 2000 Track 6, I'm going to be disappointed in that youtube search.

Yes. This is now the Underrated Old School PC Game Zone.

Journeyman Project. Mass Effect before there was Mass Effect.

...but, so as not to completely derail the thread, here's more of that X-Files / Fallout crossover I was talking about:

Can't you just see Mulder as the Vault Dweller?

Or Scully? With that bright red hair spilling out over a tight blue form-fitting jumpsuit...*smack*

Dafuq!?

Your wife is apparently the Moses of Lemmings. Leading them to their promised land. :911:: Fucking hero, man.

Also, I still want to get a large group together, all throw on some green wigs, blue ponchos, and go cosplaying as a group of lemmings. We could have a couple carry parasols and maybe have everyone carry a party popper and when someone starts counting down we all shout "OH NO!", pull it, and fall to the ground.

Did somebody say PC?

The Octoroks covered this in practice a few times.
