Hmm, true. Oh, speaking of that movie. Jason Shwartzman (Gideon in Scott Pilgrim) has a bit part in HHGTTG. He's Gag Halfrunt, the guy on the TV that says "Zaphod iz just zis guy, you know?" :awesome:

As for the movie as a whole? Yeah, it does kinda bug me that they screwed up some of the characters, but Douglas Adams actually helped work on the movie and stuff, so I still like it, even if it is kinda weird in the way the story progresses. Plus, it has its moments. I tend to not get mad at Hollywood fucking shit up as long as it gives me something awesome in the movie that balances it out. Equivalent exchange or something, I guess? I dunno.

I really like the musical number the dolphins do in the beginning of the movie. That makes up for Trillian and Arthur's romantic subplot. Something that like. :coookieesssss:

I wasn't that bad of a film. It wasn't that great either. It was a fun day at the theatre. :drmario:

You're all kidding yourselves because you'd anticipated the movie for so long that having it be a piece of trash was unsuccessful.

Also I'm fairly sure Adams died before any of the filming began, and had very little input on the script.

If you read the Salmon of Doubt, he'd been working on it and doing the run around with studios for a long time, though, so I'm fairly certain he had the script all planned out and everything.

That doesn't mean they didn't completely butcher his own script. And authors of source material usually are credited as writers, no matter how accurate the film ends up being.

i just figure Ricky Gervais could totally take the book and make a movie. It is right up his humor ally. Shit..he could do the whole trilogy and follow the book....most people would eat it ups.

Joe Schmo marathon on Spike TV

I enjoyed this show when they first started it. Very entertaining...still a good show really. Its been 7 years...I don't get why they didn't go through and try it again.

One of the episodes of the Python documentary, they discuss picking the name "Monty Python's Flying Circus." Another name they were thinking of for the show, according to I think Eric Idle, was "You Can't Call a Television Show Corn Flakes"

I have read the network wanted them to change it to a more sensible name and they threatened to change the name of the show every week.

they mention the studio just wanted it to be named "Monty Python" not "Monty Python's The Flying Circus"....they thought it would confuse people.

That documentary shows some crazy stuff about the BBC though. Crazy story.

Erasing tapes to record football to show later....fucking wow

They dropped the "Flying Circus" from the name in the 4th series, after Cleese left the show. I thought that was interesting. I'm currently watching the 5th episode, where they talk about the controversy surrounding Life of Brian. I need to find the video of John Cleese and Michael Palin arguing with the bishop on TV about the blasphemous nature (or lack thereof) of the movie.

Primer - I folllowed it but at the same time....I was lost. I must say watching films like The Matrix, Inception, and Primer right in a row (did this unintentionally) really is making me feel weird. Like the tiniest bit paranoid about life.

I watched Black Dynamite last night, and wow; they perfectly parodied blaxploitation movies. Don't get me wrong I'm Gonna Git You Sucka was one of the best parodies for awhile, but Black Dynamite didn't pull any punches, from the crew and equipment "accidentally" in shots, horrible cuts, the occasional crappy focus, poor choreography, and the cheesiest lines ever spewed on screen, it was such an awesome movie. The last fight scene had me laughing for the longest time. I need to get it on DVD.

Yeah, I bought it, I was like 12 when it came out, big whoop, wanna fight about it?

Awesome movie. My favorite line:

Black Dynamite: I'm here to talk to who's in charge.
Black Panther Guy: Sarcastically I'm in charge.

Hilarious.
