They seem to use a lot of 3D animation which bugged me a little, at worst, those parts looked like a bad video game cutscene.
But even with that I found it to be pretty enjoyable to watch.

just started Speed Grapher, only about 4 episodes in but so far it's pretty badass (though from what my friend has told me the ending is kind of shit).

So, I've been in the anime club on campus for a few weeks now. It's basically like 3 hours of anime watching every Thursday night, which is pretty sweet. We do a different theme each week where we watch the first (or the first good) episode of like 3 or 4 shows, or a couple of shows and a movie, and then we watch like 3 or 4 episodes of a continuing series.

Right now we're watching a series called Future Diary, and it's pretty awesome.

Tonight, our theme was based on WW2, and we watched the first episode of Strike Witches. What in the actual fuck.

Okay, so, you've got school girls, right? Don't wear pants, because...hey, Fan Service, baby! So, there's girls walking around in just shirts and panties.

Only, they aren't girls: they're magic. And when they use their magic powers, they sprout cat ears, and tails.

Also, did I mention they were WW2 propeller planes on their legs that function like some sort of ghetto ass jetpack?

Loli magic catgirls with planes for feet. Fighting aliens. During WW2.

Because fuck you, that's why.

Besides that, we watched a show called Zipang, and another one called Starship Yamato 2199, which were both pretty good and a bit more serious.

But, oh lawd, dem Strike Witches.

Also, Future Diary is pretty awesome. I'd recommend it to you guys, for sure. Basically, kid gets roped into a contest between 12 people, the winner of which will become God. They have diaries (cell phone is the predominant one that most of them use) that can tell them something about themselves briefly in the future. It's a fight to the death. So, survival game, but with some weird kind of sci-fi elements to it.

Pretty awesome so far. I'm not sure how far we are into the series, but we got to a point where the themesong changed to a new one, so I'm guessing we're pretty far in, haha.

@nameless i love mirai nikki(future diary) read the spin off mangas too they give more depth to the series.
also in japan strike witches dvd set comes with a pair of panties ;)

I just watched Deadman Wonderland(in two days). I really like the series until the ending. It just sucked and ruined the pacing.

Any good animes coming out this fall?

Edit: NVM found a preview

Oh God, why, haha.

Also, I like the little after the credits parts on some of the episodes. Very goofy stuff, sometimes, haha.

Your anime club actually showed Strike Witches to a group of people on purpose?

Whoever is responsible for that should be ashamed of themselves

About half of the club was just going "Awww, come on! What the fuck!?" and "What? WHY!?"

I was laughing my ass off at it.

The club leader was like..."Soo...we've got a real...uh...treat...tonight." when he was introducing it.

He knows exactly what he did, haha.

A few weeks ago, we had Annoying Catchphrases as a theme, so we watched Squid Girl (I think that's the name?), and another one called When the Seagulls Cry. Which, fun fact, I now finally know what the fuck the context of this is:

i agree with DEadman Wonderland. Great art style, fun fights. A lil too much whining, but overall, neat. The ending though just sort of happened and i was like "oh... its over?"

stop watching one season anime based on ongoing manga and you won't have that bad ending problem ever again

Just watched the first episode of Robotics;Notes has me hooked enough to wait a few more episodes. The only thing that seems really interesting is it seems to be an alternative dimension created in stiens;gate(best anime 2011)

Also just downloaded the new Code Geass. Animation is amazing in the first sequence. Ill watch the rest tomorrow.

Hey! I've seen that one, too, haha. We watched it last week in our club. :awesome:

It was pretty good. I want to see terrible shit happen to his rival. That guy is a fucking douche.

I think we're starting a new continuing series in a week or two, because we finally finished Future Diary. It was pretty good...actually kind of a decent ending. Everything went better than expected? Sorta?

Yeah, the animation was super shit but the direction, pacing, and style were really great and it's presented in a way that's self-aware enough to make up for the fact that it's a goofy story from the eighties or whenever it was

You're talking about Jojo, right?

I kind of like the low budget art style. It's got character, haha.

Guys. Seriously. Polar Bear Cafe. It's like, a sitcom about cute animals who go to a cafe and work part time jobs. It's awesome.
