South Park has went Game of Thrones epic with their Black Friday episode(s)

I'm really interested in "Black friday is pushed back to Dec 6th. Thanksgiving is pushed back to Dec 3rd" As that gives South Park the ability to make 2 more episodes before "black friday" and end their season on a 4-part blowout.

Parks and Rec last week probably had the best moment of honest geekery ever. Ben is, quite possibly, the truest geek on television. He's completely normal, social, and can mingle with people but happens to like board games and "nerd stuff". He did something to make almost all tabletop gamers laugh on Thursday.

edit: wait

Wasn't he suppose to die by eating something out of the garbage ala the first Stewie straight to DVD film?

Yes, but arguably the time travel involved in that movie could have easily altered that timeline.
EDIT: Or any other time travel in the show. Or lack thereof, apparently. Also, since when was there ANYTHING considered "canon" in Family Guy?

I was just asking a question pertaining to an incident. Honestly, I see them going back on it within a season.

Also, Cones of Dunshire. Why is this not being discussed more?

Person of Interest has been using my heart and mind as punching bags for the last three episodes. This was among the best written, directed, acted and emotionally exhausting TV I have ever seen. Seriously, this show can do no wrong.

I like how they concentradet on one of the many plod threads that's been going on during the past three episodes and put a definitive end to it. Now, after the break, they can concentrate on upping the stakes. Seriously, genre TV doesn't get any better than this.

The To-Do List
This is the End (bought it a few days ago, saw it in theaters...I really wanna see the deleted scenes and all the lines they threw out)

Saw Frozen. It was actually really good. Between this and Wreck-It Ralph Disney's animation division really seems to have its shit together.

I still miss traditional animation.

=-=-

To-Do List - It's pretty damn funny. The cast is also really good. Clark Gregg, Aubrey Plaza, Donald Glover, Andy Samburg, Bill Hader, Maube from Arrested Development. It's kind of a high school film about a girl thinking she needs to get all her sexual experimenting out of the way before college starts. Pretty basic story and such. The comedy in it is entertaining, though. It could probably be categorized in the "American Pie" family of films.

Chuck - Why do we stop talking about shows once they've finished? I started rewatching it while I am waiting for something to pop up on netflix or anything. This show is really, really fun. I really like it, still. We need to talk about great shows even once they're finished. The Wire, Breaking Bad, Chuck; where are these conversations?

I tried to get Chuck conversations started on here while it was airing, but I don't think many of us watched it. Now that it's on Netflix, I think everyone here should.

one thing that I just never fully noticed the first time through the series: the soundtrack. They just hit all the right buttons at the right time. The use of music, and variety, is just great. Cake as an opening theme; I didn't expect less.

I liked the first two seasons but once he started with that Kung-Fu schtick (and Subway started to appear absolutely everywhere) I kinda lost interest.

Excellent. This show really lends itself to speculation.

I do think that's when it was at its best. It suffered a bit from never knowing if it was going to get picked up for a full season, or even renewed season to season. Most seasons have 2 finale-like episodes where they didn't know if they'd ever get picked up beyond midseason, or for a next season, and so there's a bit of retconning all over the place, like "OH BUT THAT GUYS NOT REALLY DEAD LIKE WE THOUGHT WHEN WE KILLED HIM." It's cheesy, but fun. It always ended pretty definitively but open enough that it could continue if it were picked up, so the writers sometimes had to write themselves out of corners a bit... I honestly think the show suffered from that a little bit, and if they knew off the bat that they would get a full season instead of producing two halves separately, the story arcs could have been much more interesting and better planned out, but I can't really fault the crew themselves on that... They did what they could given the circumstances, every dozen or so episodes...

As for Subway, they were targeted by fans somehow to become sponsors of the show, and largely helped fund it from the third season on. During one of the "will we be cancelled or not" period (which sadly happened all the fucking time) Zachary Levi actually lead a large group of fans to a Subway location in England as part of a "Footlongs and Finales" campaign, where fans of the show were encouraged to show support by supporting it's major funder. I'm not sure on all the details, but apparently it worked... Something about confirming that the product placement worked and their sponsorship was a big help, and encouraging them to continue funding? I don't know.

The product placement can be a little annoying, but if it was a company that pretty much singlehandedly kept the show on the air an additional 3 seasons, I'm ok with it.
