I think they also took it to cheesy levels (in a funny way). They had their goofball side characters basically having constant orgasms over 5 dollar foot longs.

Subway gets some big props. They kept Chuck going and they kept Community going. Although, to Dan Harmon's credit, he really knows how to utilize a product and it's placement on a show better than others.

If you haven't seen Rush yet, go out and see it. Maybe I'm biased because Niki Lauda was my earliest real life hero (by that I mean from age 2 onwards), but then again, as an Austrian of certain age, that was pretty much required by law. I don't care for Formula 1 these days but this film reminded me, why I once loved it. And even if you don't care about this particular circus or car racing in general, it's an excellent, gripping character piece and probably your best and only chance to hear genuine Austrian accents (both german and english) in a Hollywood production. Just take it from someone who has grown up with this: This film is accurate as balls!

Another three episodes of Sherlock are done. Again very awesome, the first of them was probably one of the best episodes yet. Now, the waiting game begins again. Which sucks, because ep3 (easily the weakes of the bunch though it has some nice twists and turns and visually, it was the most interesting), ends with another bloody evil cliffhanger.

I would agree but then I remember how Series 1 ended. That cliffhanger pissed me off. This one I'm just super interested to see what happens next. Series 1 made me desperate to see. Really liked this series as well. It's made me love Mycroft even more.

It really sucks that they only do the three episodes per season, makes the wait feel even more intolerable than for any other show.
Did you miss me? :awesome:

I just watched the first episode(double episode) of Helix. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOORIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING.
I recommend avoiding this show and pretending it doesn't exist. Such a shame because it looked/sounded like it might be pretty cool.

Yeah, I don't get the hype around that show either. The characters are fucking terrible, annoying and so damn obvious! The way the boss of that research station reacted to all those CDC agents discovered stuff and none of them went "that guy knows something"... it's beyond me. It looks like a longform version of "Who goes there?", only fucking horrible. And the setting? WASTED! Never once did I get the feeling that they were on the pole, not even in the few outside scenes. Watch Carpenter's The Thing or Encounters at the End of the World by Herzog for comparison.

I find the cast of characters in that show to be the most realistic fictional characters on TV. They are so incredibly likable and easy to relate to, and to me, that's a huge reason why the show is so good. They aren't just playing sitcom stereotypes or cliche characters (the funny one, the jock, the straight man, etc.,) and the entire cast does a fantastic job with that. They really portray their characters with a ton of humanity. Except Nick Offerman. And only because Ron Swanson is not a mere man, but a god.

Rick and Morty + Community = Dan Harmon-ville

Man, Rick and Morty is fucking insane. Mr. Meeseeks is some sort of genius.

In honor of Philip Seymour Hoffman, I watched Almost Famous today. Even though he had pretty minimal screen time, this was always one of my favorite roles of his.

I also forget how much I like this movie all the time, until I'm watching it again. It's like a forgotten favorite or something. Every time I watch it, it suddenly jumps into my top 10 movies, even if I haven't even thought about it in months.

I saw he died and wrote down The Master. It is probably THE film I've wanted to see all year last year and just never got around to it. Hoffman knew how to put on an acting clinic. That's for sure.

The entirety of Clone Wars is on netflix, including the unaired sixth season.

I just finished season six and it was terrific. Not my favorite season, but it was a good close to the series. Still a few loose ends, but those may be tied up during Rebels, which i am really excited for.

Seriously, put down your weird prequel hate for a moment and give Clone Wars a chance. its probably some of the best Star Wars tales ever told. The clones themselves are amazing to watch evolve into individuals, oh and they are BADASS!

I love the different Bounty Hunters and several great cameos. It may be a slight conflicting to some of the EU that had been written, but at this point the EU is essentially being phased out. It was all sort of fan fiction to me anyways.

So yeah, give the Clone Wars a chance.

I did. It's very "okay". I find the animation ugly, and a lot of the characters fall flat for me.

I've watched this particular moment about 10 times. It might be my favorite thing ever on Community. Easily a top 3. Every single part of it is just gold, including Britta almost ruining the take with laughter.
