I've been too broke to get down to a cinema, though this weekend is looking good.

tomorrow at noon. I didn't get a trilogy experience, so I just had to find time it would fit my schedule.

what a great movie. Wow. I had great laughs and there was some great characterization throughout the entire thing. I'm not sure if it passes Hot Fuzz in terms of hilarious WTF-ness. It is probably the best of the three films from a film standpoint, though.

It's my second favorite of the three. Shaun of the Dead is still my top. This feels like it combines everything I liked most about the other two though. It had it's more serious moments like Shaun of the Dead but the overall insanity of Hot Fuzz, and I feel like having that contrast worked really fucking well in their favor. I think of all three, this movie tries the hardest (and succeeds) at really making you care about the characters. As goofy as it was compared to Shaun of the Dead, it just felt like more was at stake because they flushed out half a dozen characters pretty well, whereas Shaun only really made you care about Shaun and Ed.

And again, the cornetto showing up in Worlds End was fucking genius.

Edgar Wright can really do a fight scene super well. Scott Pilgrim helped with that.

Really my favorite call back was The simplicity of the fence they just can't jump over that always falls over on them.

I loved the arcade game that the camera just panned past and while passing it played the same music from shaun of the dead. I forgot it appeared in Hot Fuzz too.

pretty sure I don't have to say it, but:

Thor: The Dark World. Marvel really has their ducks in a row and keep churning out great movies. They've also mixed the chuckles with story progression and action.

Since I was seeing it open night I got 6 minutes of Captain America. Oooooooooooooooh man. The Winter Soldier <insert homer simpson drool>

i will say one thing I really hope

Since the next episode of Shield is "cleaning up Thor's mess. I hope it is taking care of the big Ice Monster from the after-after credits scene. Shit was hilarious.

Bonus: The Collector part was sooooooooo cool.

Bogey, I hope that's it too. Though it might be hard on a TV budget...

Yeah Thor was pretty awesome. I really like how they're going all out on the weird cosmic scale fantasy stuff. That sort of embracing the weird makes me really excited for Guardians. I kinda wish we still got a little more of the Warrior's Three but it was a great film all the same. Hiddleston continues to be amazing.

Of all the badass awesome moments my favorite may have been the Cap cameo

Thor 2 was better than Thor but where the first one was a goofy mess this one was an inoffensive, totally uninspired paint by numbers superhero fluffball

coming after Iron Man 3 which actually challenged and played with the formula a bit I was bored to tears for most of it

No cliche was left out and not a single thing happened that I haven't seen before and done better elsewhere

If this is all it takes to please Marvel fans no wonder they don't try harder

See I find the "Just add Batman" approach to show less effort.

Didn't you know that every argument has to be framed as a competition between two things, and all issues of quality are better off being reduced to a basic dichotomy?

More seriously, though, I felt similarly, albeit Thor 2 also seems to have been incredibly trimmed for time, for some reason. Iron Man 3 was easily the best movie in its series so far, so this was a bit disappointing.

I was just happy to go to a film with some enjoyable action, funny jokes, and more Loki. Iron Man 3 was easily their best showing out of the singular films, but Winter Soldier looks really amazing. I'm hoping it is as good as it comes off.

I think Marvel is doing pretty well at making individual films and building their Cinematic Universe, certainly better than DC. Since Bats specifically called out the Marvel films I thought I'd mention Warner Bros. seems to be the lazier of the two studios.

I thought a lot of the small moments in Thor 2 were missing, but overall it was a hell of a movie.

Anyone know where we can find it online?

Just go see the movie again, and don't ever leave a Marvel movie before the entire credits have rolled, you dummy.

I saw the movie today, and it was awesome. improved greatly on the first Thor, mostly just be increasing the scale of things. Thor is otherworldly, he should be dealing with otherworldly threats, and not in smalltown New Mexico. The mid credits scene got me really pumped for Guardians of the Galaxy, and the post credits scene was pleasant, just because it avoids teh whole, "oh, when is Thor coming back?" problem. The answer is any time he wants dat Natalie Portman ass, so boom, bring on Cap 2 and Avengers 2 :awesome:

Doesn't need to be said but....

Anchorman 2....holy shit. Bonus: Adam McKay has stated that they have so many extra, hilarious takes of Anchorman 2 that their is a 2nd cut of the film that has 100% different dialogue throughout. No word on when this will be released. I'm, personally, hoping another theater run in February or something with the new cut of the film. A DVD/Bluray extra will be fine, though.

That's what they did with the first one. They released the alternate movie on DVD in a 2 pack with the theatrical movie. Might have been a Best Buy exclusive at the time, but I think it's included in the special edition blu-ray now.... It was even beyond alternate dialogue, though. There were some entirely different scenes, and whole new plot. It was almost as if they had 2 separate scripts and decided to shoot them both and just release whichever one was better. I imagine that's exactly what happened again.

I have never known this. I own the blu-ray special edition they just released. I'm going to watch it tomorrow, now.
