It really was incredible. Marvel just keeps kicking ass. Here they take a property that no one even cared about and made it something EVERYONE is quoting.

So many great little moments. Batista really surprised me too. I mean, I didnt think he was going to suck, but he made me like Drax a lot. The whole literal thing was fantastic and

when they were all planning on how to take out Ronin, that one dude punched him in the arm like "Lets do this" i was like "UH OH!"
ha ha. The jail scene

where they re discussing what they need to do and why they need that battery cell thing and Groot is like "I am Groot(Ill just go get it)" and Rocket is like, "but that is the last thing we need to do" And then hilarity and chaos ensue. Oh and the leg thing, with the call back to the dudes eye.
Oh good stuff. It was a fun sci fi adventure set in a marvelous universe.

I loved that part, because it was kind of an obvious payout for what was going to happen, but it just worked so well.

Also, with Rocket and Groot, does Rocket actually understand what he's saying in the subtext, or does he more just bounce his own internal thoughts off of Groot? Because I kinda have this Han Solo/Chewie vibe from them, where the one character can understand the other guy's words just fine...but I wouldn't put it past Rocket just to bounce his own thoughts off of Groot, either, it seems like something that he might do.

Rocket is one of the few that can actually understand him.

Oh, so
[Reveal] Spoiler:
that scene where The Collector is explaining what an infinity gem is, when it shows that giant thing with a helmet and a scepter using one to destroy a planet...is that Galactus? I feel like it is. Or, more accurately, I think they don't have the rights to Galactus, because Sony or Fox or whoever still has the rights to Fantastic Four stuff, but they're totally trying to make you think "Galactus" with that shot.

That's a Celestial, that place where the Collector was living Knowhere, that was the head of a dead Celestial. Basically an ancient race of super powerful giant guys.

Assuming its still playing this weekend I think I'm gonna go with a friend who has yet to see it. This'll be my third time in theaters. I don't remember ever doing that with a movie. This is seriously one awesome film.

Regarding the jail scene:
The whole thing is great with all the character interactions and all. The fight is amazing. What might be my favorite part is when he's cornered and Groot lets loose and starts attacking. Something about straight up bellowing "I...AM...[i]GROOT[i/]" is badass

Damn this is a good ass movie. Can't wait to see where the sequel goes. And when they eventually meet the Avengers :awesome:

Welp, I messed up. Assumption based on the way a story read. Phase 3 is still all about Thanos.

Cap 3 is apparently the Civil War...which....I don't know how that can work...because it is one film and primarily focused on one guy.

The speculation I've read is that Age of Ultron will end "badly" with everybody hating each other and breaking up. Cap 3 will be Civil War, Cap will start his own team, then possibly get shot and replaced by Bucky. Then the rest of Phase 3 is all about the rest of the Infinity Stones and the joining of the two Avengers teams and the Guardians of the Galaxy, and possibly even the Defenders, to be the ones who take on Thanos.

I kinda like this plan, though I don't want to wait TOO long to see Thanos again. I especially like it because the supposed second team has had a different line up from every rumor site but the one person consistent is Carol Danvers.

This is going to be great. Did you see the freaking Hulkbuster Iron Man Some serious shit is going to go down.

And holy SHIT does Ultron look menacing.

Also, if what Snifit said it true I can see Thanos seeing the events of Avengers 2 as his opening to come in and fuck shit up. Like "Ha! Those idiots are weak, alright, time to make my move.

I have no idea what civil war is.

Well in the context of the Marvel movies anyways.

It's basically all the Avengers travel back in time to fight in the American Civil War (Or the War of Northern Aggression as Hawkeye tends to call it). Iron Man sides with General Sherman and marches to the sea, Thor is responsible for the siege of Vicksburg, Hulk and Wolverine have a fight that destroys Fort Sumter, and Captain America stops the assassination of president Lincoln, but inadvertently alters history and creates a race of super mutants back in the present day, which are later controlled by Thanos, who was revealed to be Red Skull, who was revealed to be Jefferson Davis.

It's awesome. :awesome:

That sounds fucking badass, I'd kill to see that movie.

I saw this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_War_%28comics%29 which sounded kinda stupid. I wanna see this time-travel civil war movie.

Civil War wasn't all that bad, except for the ending. I thought the appeal of it was seeing all the heroes fighting each other and seeing who would team with who, there are only a couple of heroes so far so it's be a short fight :/
Sick of hearing about rumours, it's getting out of hand, I just want to watch some good comic book movies.

On the bright side, I'll listen to James Spader's voice under basically any context.

pretty hype for black panther, glad captain marvel is happening (don't know much about tho)

don't care that much about everything else save for maybe guardians 2 (but that existing isn't much of a surprise)

Apparently, Loki's Scepter is officially an Infinity Stone now.

I'm excited for Black Panther and Doctor Strange, especially if they actually get Cumberbatch. I'm super excited for Captain Marvel. I've always liked Carol Danvers so seeing her get a movie makes me pleased.

Glad it's official, only thing left to speculate about really is the time gem, which I imagine will turn up in Doctor Strange or something.

I'm also pretty excited to see some Black Panther. Really been digging the Captain Marvel stuff ever since she took the name so I hope that's good as well. Mostly hyped for Inhumans because I really love the Inhumans and can't wait to see Lockjaw in a movie.

Well we're missing Time and Soul. I'm guessing Soul will turn up around Dr. Strange because he's been a guardian of that gem before and I bet with all the mystic cosmic stuff we'll see Adam Warlock turn up there too.

Tesseract is Space. Scepter is Mind. Orb is Power. Aether is, I guess, Reality.

We kind of know/knew where the Soul gem was, Adam Warlock's cocoon was in The Collector's collection, he has the Soul gem.
