Yeah, I figured he was just fuckin with him. I was close to posting a rant, then I thought BH's arguement was like "hey Oranges are just like Apples, I mean they are both sweet, both have vitamin C, They both start with with a letter.........THEY ARE THE SAME!"

All the while just discounting the obvious, if you can't see the glaring differences then FIAL!

There were only a few good shows on TV in the last few years: Firefly, BSG, House, and Arrested Development.

never got into lost

I watch The Office every now and then, and it usually pretty good. I am considering buying/renting dvds of it.

heroes was fuckwin first season, average 2nd (i blame writers strike), and 3rd season looks like its gonna be awesome

How I Met Your Mother is one of 3 shows currently on air that I have seen every episode of (also, heroes and scrubs) and has one of the most solid casts on tv

Scrubs is running out of steam, and has been inconsistant for the past 2 seasons. I'm glad it's returning for a final season this fall, but only because it deserves a worthy ending, which it wouldnt have gotten this season because of the strike. had it not been for the strike fucking things up, i would have had no problem with it ending this past season, so i am only glad about the 8th season for the sole purpose of wrapping it all up the way it should be.

South Park was always win, but has changed alot since the beginning. It used to be random toilet humor and killing kenny that made it funny. Now, the humor is a bit smarter (although still as filthy) and actually relates to current issues and events, making it slightly more (for lack of a better word) sophisticated.

As much as I love the simpsons (if you hate simpsons, get out of america) it's time to hang it up. The show has been painfully falling through a downward spiral since about 2000. If it were up to me, I'd stop with the new episodes and maybe just focus on turning it into a franchise of animated films. The simpsons movie was by far better than any episode i have seen in the past 5 years or so, and as a result, I think film franchise would be the best route to go.

except family guy the movie was exactly the same as the show. the writing and storyline of the simpsons movie was a MUCH higher quality than what has actually been on the show in the past few years.

Randomness? That reminds me of the time that I watched Family Guy.

*flash back sequence with non sequester jokes, go!*

But, I still like Family Guy. Simpsons....maybe 1 out of 20 of their jokes gets a smirk out of me. 1 out of 100 a genuine laugh.

Honestly, Simpsons has gone downhill since...um, well, let's see...

I can't even rightly remember when they jumped the shark. It was at least season 10, though, I think.

Groening no longer does the series?

This could be a very big factor in why the ha-ha level is insufficient.

Man, what are even guys you talking about? Excluding the Tracy Ullman shorts, he created the premise and designed the main characters and the art style, which is why his name is on everything. He has done pretty much nothing else.

Groening is credited with writing or co-writing the episodes "Some Enchanted Evening", "The Telltale Head", "Colonel Homer" and "22 Short Films About Springfield", as well as The Simpsons Movie, released in 2007.[36] He has had several cameo appearances in the show, with a speaking role in the episode "My Big Fat Geek Wedding". He currently serves at The Simpsons as an executive producer and creative consultant*.

I blame the fact that the show is just too damn old. It should have died years ago. Shows like the UK office and Black Books have the right idea. Even soap operas kill off their main characters. OK, we get it, Homer is stupid.

*Executive producers foot the bill and get the biggest font in the credits despite doing nothing. Creative Consultant is a pretty ambiguous term, probably meaning that he has the role of a co-producer for 'creative' things such as writing and animation, and not the boring stuff. I imagine as far as writing goes that means he has to approve of scripts before they are produced, and probably makes contributions and changes that aren't large enough to warrant a co-writing credit very occasionally.
